The Communication Team of the Association of Indigenous Councils of Northern Cauca, ACIN, has been nominated for the prestigious Bartolome de las Casas Prize from the Casa de las Américas in Spain. The award is given to those individuals, institutions, and organizations that have done outstanding work for an extended period of time in defense of the rights of indigenous people in the Americas, and that have promoted understanding and knowledge of the values of the indigenous people of the world. The Tejido de Comunicación of ACIN was notified in late January of the nomination after having submitted materials last October to the State Secretary for International Cooperation of Spain and the Casa las Américas.
